Sal DiMaggio is a New Jersey-based journalist who is passionate about telling stories that support civic engagement and help inform communities.

As an editor at New Jersey Hills Media Group, Sal is responsible for the Morris NewsBee and Hanover Eagle, two weekly publications in Morris County. Sal covers local government, education and other community stories for five municipalities, delivering quality news and features to residents.

Before joining New Jersey Hills, he was the editor-in-chief of The Montclarion, Montclair State University's student newspaper. There, he focused on pushing the newspaper in a more digital direction, prioritizing social media content and community-oriented news.

Sal was also an intern and a freelance contributor for MyCentralJersey.com for two years, which covers Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon and parts of Union counties. He was also a freelance journalist for The Village Green of Maplewood and South Orange, covering municipal government and education.

Outside of journalism, Sal enjoys photography, food, travel and watching sports.
